I used to "save" people, even though it was slowly draining my energy and my sanity.⠀
I grew up with a mom who wanted to SERVE, even though she had none, she would give... and give... and give... And I would see her cry sometimes when she's alone in her room. Growing up in that kind of environment made me feel so guilty whenever I turn people down.⠀
The moment I realized that pattern, I started saying NO to draining demands (and draining conversations).⠀
I lost a lot of friends.⠀
I've had uncomfortable conversations with family members.⠀
I released and transmuted toxic patterns and relationships that don't make me grow anymore.⠀
I keep the lessons and move forward in peace.⠀
I started doing things that I actually want and value.⠀
⠀
This is a reminder for us leaders and changemakers to learn how to stand in the power of an authentic NO. 😌☝️⠀
⠀
If it doesn't make you feel good, if it drains you, if you're not moving FORWARD in your life because you're trying so hard to please the people you care about--- Pause. Reflect. Ask yourself if you'd still allow it to continue, or if you'd like to move on to something better.⠀
⠀
You have that choice, and you can decide now.
